An example of how local food comes closer!
The southern Finnish region of Nyland is a so-called food hub and an example of how partnerships can work in the farming industry. Long-term contracts are signed between food producers and consumers. Consumers can express their wishes and producers can manage seasonal products. A food hub exists where there is only one intermediary between producer and consumer. From the food hub private consumers, schools, restaurants, hospitals, and so on can be targetted.
Lecture delivered by Rikard Korkman from Nyland's food.
