The distances from Helsinki Airport to
- Vaasa (Vasa) is approximately 400 km
- Turku (Åbo) is approximately 150 km
- Raseborg (Raasepori) is approximately 110 km
- Jakobstad (Pietarsaari) is approximately 480km
The English name of a Finnish town is either its Finnish or Swedish name: if the majority of the population speaks Finnish as mother tongue the Finnish name is used and vice versa. Below you find the names in both languages. The street names are first in Swedish as Novia UAS is a Swedish-speaking institution.
Turku
(Åbo in Swedish)
The Turku/Åbo Campus is split into three locations:
- Henriksgatan 7 (Henrikinkatu in Finnish)
- Tavastgatan 13 (Hämeenkatu in Finnish)
- Hertig Johans parkgata 21 (Juhana Herttuan puistokatu in Finnish). This location is often also referred to as Aboa Mare.
PLANE
The easiest way to travel to Turku is by plane. There are regular connections to Turku from Stockholm, Riga and Gdansk. From the airport you can take a local bus or taxi to the City Centre, the trip is about 7 km.
BUS
If you arrive at the airport in Helsinki you can take a bus that goes straight from the airport to Turku. The buses leave almost every hour and the trip takes about 2,5 hours. You find the timetable at www.matkahuolto.fi/en
TRAIN
You can take a bus or a train from Helsinki airport to the main railway station in Helsinki and then take a train to Turku from there. Alternatively, you can take a commuter train from the airport to Pasila and change to the train that goes from Helsinki to Turku. You find the timetable here www.vr.fi/en. The trip takes about two hours.
FERRY
There are two shipping companies operating the route between Stockholm/Kapellskär and Turku, Tallink Silja and Viking Line. The ferries leave every morning and night to/from Turku. The trip takes about 10 hours.

Ekenäs, Raseborg
(Tammisaari, Raasepori in Finnish)
The Novia UAS green campus is situated in Ekenäs, a formerly independent town that is now part of the bigger municipality of Raseborg (Raasepori in Finnish). The name of the campus is Campus Raseborg. When travelling, the destination is Ekenäs (but often only the Finnish name Tammisaari is used in timetables).
PLANE
Helsinki airport is the closest airport. From there you can take a bus or a train to the City Centre and continue to Ekenäs by bus or train.
FERRY
There are ferry routes between Helsinki and Stockholm, Tallinn and Travemünde operated by Viking Line, Tallink Silja, Eckerö Line, and FINNLINES.
BUS
There are a few daily bus connections between Helsinki and Ekenäs. You find the timetable at www.matkahuolto.fi/en.
TRAIN
From Helsinki airport you can take a bus or train to the main railway station in Helsinki and then a train (with Turku/Åbo as the destination) to Karis (Karjaa in Finnish) and change to another train (with Hanko as the destination) to Ekenäs (Tammisaari in Finnish). Or you can take a commuter train from the airport to Pasila (a train station outside Helsinki), change in Pasila to a train with destined for Turku, change trains in Karis, and continue to Ekenäs with the train headed to Hanko. Sometimes the train is replaced by a bus from Karis to Hanko.

Vaasa
(Vasa in Swedish)
PLANE
There are regular connections from Helsinki to Vaasa airport. The airport is situated 9 km from the City Centre. Bus line 4 operates between the airport and Vaasa City Center https://www.vaasa.fi/en/living/traffic-and-streets/public-transport/
TRAIN
If you travel from Helsinki there are both straight train connections and connections that require a change. You can find the timetables here www.vr.fi/en
The Travel Centre in Vaasa has both a railway and bus station and is located right in the City Centre.

Jakobstad
(Pietarsaari in Finnish)
If you arrive in Helsinki, you can go to Jakobstad by train, bus, or plane.
TRAIN
The train from Helsinki doesn’t pass through Jakobstad. The closest railway station is located in Bennäs (Pännäinen in Finnish). The official name of the train station is Jakobstad-Pedersöre (Pietarsaari-Pedersöre in Finnish) and it is located approx. 10 km from Jakobstad. PLANE
The airport closest to Jakobstad is the Kokkola-Pietarsaari Airport, located in Kronoby (Kruunupyy in Finnish) about 30 km from Jakobstad. There is a taxi service waiting at the airport for all scheduled arrivals. The price for a single trip is 20-25 €.
