Accommodation
Accommodation in Turku
The Student Village Foundation in Turku (TYS) provides accommodation for degree and exchange students. TYS has quotas for exchange students but degree students automatically get accommodation. You can apply for student accommodation online three months before arrival. The lease is made for a minimum period of five months.
Degree Students
Degree students can apply for housing in any location but note that there are only furnished apartments in Ispuri and Pilvilinna.
Exchange Students
Exchange students can apply for housing in two locations:
- The Student Village, situated about 1,5 km from the City Centre, offers
- studio apartments in which you have your own room and bathroom but share a kitchen with eleven other tenants
- shared apartments in which you have your own room but share kitchen and bathroom with two other persons.
- In Iltakajo/Krööpilänkatu 4, in Varissuo, about 5 km from the City Centre, there are shared apartments for two or three persons.
Since only part of the exchange students get student accommodation in Turku the rest will have to find private accommodation. The International Coordinator will inform you about alternative ways of finding accommodation.
