After you have been nominated by your home university, the next step is to apply for admission via a system called SoleMove. 

Please follow these steps to complete your SoleMove application:

↓ Step 5: Create a proposed study plan

↓ Step 6: Upload enclosures

↓ Step 7: Check and send application

 

Step 1: Activate your account

A SoleMove account will be created for you after we have received the nomination from your home institution. 

You will then receive an email from noreply@solenovo.fi containing your username and instructions on how to activate your SoleMove account. 

If you can't see the e-mail in your inbox, please check the spam folder before contacting us. 

Step 2: Log in

Go to SoleMove's login page.

Choose Novia University of Applied Sciences.

Choose Log in using: Local

Log in with the information you have received via email.

Step 3: Edit application

If your exchange period will last longer than 2 months. Click on the pencil on the right-hand side

Step 4: Fill in the application

1. Fill in all your personal data, contact person in case of emergency and additional information. Click “Save” on the lower right side and then click on the arrow next to the “Save” button. Fill in all the required information (marked with *). Note that telephone numbers must be written in international format, e.g. +358401122333. Fill in all the information. Click “Save” on the lower right side and then click on the arrow next to the “Save” button.

2. Fill in all the information. Click “Save” on the lower right side and then click on the arrow next to the “Save” button.

Traineeship application

When filling out an application form for P – Traineeship you will need to fill out this page instead of study information. Click “Save” on the lower right side and then click on the arrow pointing to the right next to the “Save” button.

 

Application for a practice placement in Nursing

For those who are applying for a Nursing placement, please write the following information under the Traineeship information-tab: 

  • what kind of ward you would like to practice in (internal medicine, surgery, home care, elderly care, other)
  • for how many weeks/ward
  • for how many hours/ward

NB! in Finland Nursing students work 40 hours/week, 8 hours /day during practice. It is not possible to work shorter days or just a few days per week. If you e.g. need 40 hours practice in surgery, you should only apply for one week in Finland even if you would only practice 20 hours/week in your home country.

Please mention, in Previous work experience in relevant field, what kind of wards you have practiced in previously and for how many weeks or hours/ward. We also need to know:

  • how many credits you have now and
  • how many credits you will have by the time your practice starts.

Application for a practice placement in another field

Please fill in under the Traineeship information-tab what kind of placement you would like to have and for how many weeks.

NB! It’s only possible to include a practice placement in your Learning agreement if practice placements are mentioned in the course offer.

Study application

Fill in all your student information. Also chose the right institution. If you are unsure about what “Exchange program” to fill in. Please contact your International Coordinator. Click “Save” on the lower right side and then click on the arrow pointing to the right next to the “Save” button

Combined study and traineeship

When filling out an application for C – Combined study and traineeship you need to fill out both “Study information” and “Traineeship information”

Current studies

3. Fill in all information about your current studies. Click “Save” on the lower right side and then click on the arrow pointing to the right next to the “Save” button.

Step 5: Create a proposed study plan

Please list all courses that you want to study at Novia during your exchange period. Please note that the general workload for one semester is 30 ECTS (60 ECTS for the whole academic year). It's not possible to combine courses from different campuses, unless it's an online course. 

For more information on the component code, course name, and number of ECTS, please check our courses in English. Any courses that you would like to study via Campus Online should also be included in your proposed study plan. 

1. Now you need to make a study plan. To add new courses, click “Add new course"

2. Fill in the right code, name and ECTS credits and then click “Save”.

3. You can find a list of courses available at Novias website. Choose the right campus and the right degree programme. (Example from Energy Technology

4. Click the arrow pointing to the right when you have added all your courses to your study plan. Please list all courses that you want to study at Novia during your exchange period. Click on the arrow in the lower right corner to continue.

Step 6: Upload enclosures

Under the Enclosures tab, please upload all required documents in English, Swedish or Finnish. 

Mandatory documents include:

  1. CV, preferably with photo
  2. Transcript of Records
  3. Portfolio - only required for Fine Arts or Media culture students. You can either upload your portfolio to SoleMove, or send us a link to your portfolio.

To add new enclosures, click the “Choose file” button. Transcript of records is an official document listing a student’s academic performance. Click “Save” on the lower right side and then click on the arrow pointing to the right next to the "Save" button.

Step 7: Check and send application

1. Click on the “Send” button in the top right-hand corner when you are finished with the application form.

2. When you are finished with the application, click the “Home” button on the top left-hand side
