Henna Yliluikki
Henna Yliluikki holds a Master of Science in Molecular Biosciences, specializing in molecular plant biology, from the University of Turku. She studied for her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, with minors in Chemistry and Environmental Science, from the same university.
Henna finds nature, natural resources, and molecular biology to be fascinating, which is why she is passionate about her ongoing research. Currently, Henna is working on a project called ZETA – Losing weight? Eco-physiology and transcriptomics reveal climate forcing on lipid profiles and adaptation in marine biota. This project focuses on studying the responses of marine organisms, particularly zooplankton, to seawater warming and acidification caused by global climate change. With a special interest in changes in the lipid content and profiles of zooplankton, as these changes significantly affect the entire marine food web.
More information about the ZETA project can be found on the projects homepage: Losing weight? Eco-physiology and transcriptomics reveal climate forcing on lipid profiles and adaptation in marine biota
Hennas goal is to complete her PhD dissertation as part of this project. In Hennas free time, she enjoys spending time in nature, preferably with endurance sports such as orienteering, cross-country skiing, and cycling.
