WindSoMe - INKA-WindSoMe
Period: 1.12.2014 - 12.9.2017
Content:
The WindSoMe project studies wind turbine acoustics and noise in Finland. It
focuses on the concurrent acquisition of acoustic, atmospheric and citizen
experience data. Multiple locations for measuring the sound from a wind park
will be used to permit a better understanding of the acoustics from wind
turbines in Finland’s environment. Finland’s Nordic weather will be measured
and simulated near a wind park to determine how it effects the acoustics. The
citizen responses of those living near the wind park will be assessed to
capture the human perspectives associated with living in the vicinity of a wind
park environment. The project will analyze the relationships between these
three data sources from diurnal and seasonal cycles.
