Triple Helix forms the core of our research methodology at Novia's Faculty of Business Administration. This innovation model between higher education, industry, and the public sector creates a platform for innovation and knowledge exchange that is particularly valuable for the development of our coastal and rural regions.

In several projects, we also extend the Triple Helix to include the Quadruple and Quintuple Helix. By incorporating the third sector (Quadruple Helix) and sustainability aspects (Quintuple Helix), we create more comprehensive innovation processes. These extended models enable a deeper understanding of societal needs and ensure that our research contributes to sustainable development that benefits both people and the environment.

By actively applying the Triple, Quadruple, and Quintuple Helix, we create an environment where theoretical knowledge meets practical challenges and societal needs. We use design thinking to promote collaborations that generate tangible results. Our goal is to strengthen regional innovation capacity by building bridges between researchers, businesses, and policymakers.

Our research examines how Helix collaboration can be optimized to drive sustainable regional development. We study how digitalization can enhance collaboration between actors and how we can create effective meeting places for knowledge exchange. A particular focus is placed on developing models for how small and medium-sized enterprises can benefit from Helix collaboration to strengthen their innovation capacity and competitiveness.

In our research, we develop concrete methods and tools that facilitate and improve collaboration between different actors. We create structures that enable companies to effectively collaborate with both university and the public sector. By documenting and analyzing successful collaborations, we can continuously refine and share successful methods within the region.

The Triple, Quadruple, and Quintuple Helix are more than just research models - they are a way of working that permeates all our activities. We act as a driving force that brings together different actors and creates synergies that drive innovation. Through this approach, we contribute to building a resilient innovation ecosystem in our region, where knowledge flows freely between university, industry, and society.
