In today's interconnected world, internationalisation is a key factor for regional growth and development. At Novia's Faculty of Business, our research focuses on how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) along Finland's coasts can benefit from international opportunities while maintaining their local roots.

By applying Helix models, we integrate practical research on internationalisation strategies with education that prepares future business leaders for a global market. We also create direct collaborations with regional companies to support their international expansion.
Our research focuses on developing tailored internationalization strategies for companies in coastal and rural regions. By combining digital solutions with innovative design thinking, we help local SMEs establish an effective global presence. We also integrate circular business models as a central component, enabling companies to compete internationally in a sustainable way.

Our research projects result in concrete tools and methods that help companies in their internationalisation efforts. This includes support for identifying and evaluating international opportunities, as well as developing sustainable export strategies. We also help companies navigate regulatory and cultural challenges, and build valuable international networks and partnerships.

We collaborate with international research institutes and universities to make global knowledge accessible and useful for regional companies. By combining academic expertise with practical business experience, we create innovative solutions that strengthen our local companies' competitiveness in the global market.
