
Outi Ihanainen-Rokio
Outi Ihanainen-Rokio, PhD, works as a Senior University Lecturer at the Faculty of Business in Vaasa, in the English master's program Digital Business and Management. She is a hybrid entrepreneur whose career combines university education with practical leadership and entrepreneurship coaching. She works part-time at Novia.
Ihanainen-Rokio is an educator with solid experience in competence development through participant-oriented methods. She has a deep understanding of sustainable governance, corporate social responsibility, and managing experts in a complex environment. These are also her areas of research interest.
Outi has previously worked, for example, as a Professor of Practice in organizational communication at the University of Helsinki and as director of personnel and competence development in growth companies. In her doctoral dissertation, she studied management communication in expert organizations. Ihanainen-Rokio has a vocational teacher qualification as an e-learning specialist.

Global Reporting Initiative
Period: 1.1.2024 - 31.12.2024
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) & Nordic Sustainability Reporting Standard (NSRS) are frameworks used by companies to maintain sustainability reporting that meets both companies' and stakeholders' information needs. The goals for this project are: To research the challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ostrobothnia face regarding the use of the standard.
