Forskningsomrade Systemomstallning for att bygga resiliens

Kompetenscentret för hållbara lösningar - Raseborgs stad

About the project

The need to achieve sustainable solutions to reduce climate impact increases the demand for
knowledge that supports actions, both at the individual and societal level, to achieve sustainable societies. Novia has long experience in developing and applying sustainability solutions, especially in ecological and technological terms. How our natural resources and the environment are used is of crucial importance for both the well-being of the individual and the maintenance of the welfare society.
Further development of our specialised expertise, bioeconomy and sustainable use of natural resources, would focus more clearly on research, development and innovation (RDI) activities that support the development of carbon-neutral solutions to reduce climate impact and the development of a carbon-neutral society. Further development of our research-based activities is based on the EU's growth strategy, the Green Deal, with the overall objective of climate neutrality by 2030, and the new EU agricultural policy (CAP) for the years 2023-2027. The action plans, strategies and initiatives included in the Green Deal will guide research funding.

The Centre of Excellence brings together expertise in the field of sustainable solutions with a focus on our research themes which you can find here https://www.novia.fi/fui/vara-forskningsomraden/systemomstallning-for-att-bygga-resiliens
The competence centre has funding from both from Utbildningsstiftelsen Sydväst and the City of Raseborg. The Competence Centre forms a basis for our broad RDI activities at the Faculty of Bioeconomy. The project is five years long and funds one researcher in sustainable solutions and one researcher in energy transition. These researchers also act as team leaders together with five other team leaders funded by the same project.

Project goal

The Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Solutions develops and makes available knowledge
needed for the green transition.

Active cooperation with the region's businesses, stakeholder organisations and municipalities opens up
opportunities to participate in development work that is directly linked to their activities.
The aim is to create a platform for research, development and innovation in sustainable solutions. We have a broad expertise within the project as all our team leaders are part of the project together with two researchers. The project creates opportunities for long-term collaborations with a particular focus on regional development through joint projects.
