Intelligenta miljöer - Utveckling av forsknings- och undervisningsmiljöerna vid institutet för intelligenta system

Intelligent Environments

About the project

Finland is at the forefront in terms of conditions for intelligent systems, according to multiple sources (Accenture, Frontier, McKinsey, etc.). Of the estimated increase in Finland's GDP by 2030, as much as 36% is expected to arise solely due to AI. Universities of applied sciences play a crucial role in ensuring this increase in GDP by providing fundamental knowledge of AI-based intelligent systems and their applications to graduates entering the workforce.

Novia continuously works on enhancing knowledge of AI and applied intelligent systems. As part of this initiative, Novia has established an Institute for Intelligent Systems, focusing on new applications that leverage the opportunities opened up by AI and intelligent system solutions. However, continued project funding is needed to develop the institute's research and teaching environments further. This is essential both to enhance staff expertise and to expand activities towards regional businesses.

Project goal

The goal of this project is to further develop the institute's activities by focusing on the operational environments for research, development, and innovation in intelligent systems. Through this development, the teaching environment and staff expertise will also benefit, as it enables work with concrete and applied business cases, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises in the region. The institute aims to create a broader knowledge base among teaching staff and establish a portfolio directed towards the business sector, consisting of developed cases and documented demo projects.
