

About the project
A health technology room will be developed for education at YH Novia, focusing on future digital health trends such as video consultation, medical IoT and wellbeing applications in health care, as well as distance nursing in home care.The target audience for the Health Technology Room is social and health care students and professionals working in the health and welfare sector. This target group was chosen in view of the role of technology in the field of health and welfare is becoming increasingly central and that education and skills development is essential to meet the challenges of the future.
The creation of a health technology room has begun at YH Novia's campus in Vaasa. The Room
equipped with sensors and IoT technology, installed by engineering students and research staff in consultation with teachers from the departments of Engineering and Seafaring, Health and welfare. The room is furnished as an apartment, with a kitchenette and a kitchen table, a sleeping area and a living area.
Project goal
The aim is to develop a health technology room where social and health care students can get practicalknowledge of welfare and health technology as well as understanding the technology behind it. This aims to better prepare YH Novia's students in health technology and promote interdisciplinary learning between technology and health care.
