Hållbart och kompetent SOTE

Sustainable and competent Sote

About the project

The project Sustainable and competent Sote aligns with the program Renewable and competent Finland 2021–2027 and its specific objective 4.2, New skills for working life, under priority 4: An employable, skilled, and inclusive Finland. The aim of the project is to develop an educational model for sustainable development tailored for employees in the welfare sector, thereby increasing the number of trained experts and managers in sustainable development. The training program being developed will include a foundational course in sustainable development, featuring a uniform curriculum for all participants, as well as advanced training tailored to the specific needs and characteristics of individual work units.

Project goal

The project's goal is to develop an educational model for sustainable development for employees within the welfare regions of Southwest Finland and Ostrobothnia, thereby increasing the number of trained experts and responsible persons in sustainable development. Another objective is to assess the staff's level of competence and needs in sustainable development, as well as to test the developed educational model through a pilot initiative.

The bilingual training in sustainable development, developed within the project, can be completed either entirely as online studies or as hybrid studies. The training consists of two parts:
1) A basic training in sustainable development within the welfare region, with the same content for all employees.
2) Advanced training based on the nature and specific needs of the work unit.
