Future Vegetables

About the project

The goal of the project "Future Vegetables" is to develop greenhouse production in Ostrobothnia to meet future consumer needs. By creating customer-oriented production, greenhouse production can minimize risks from the external environment. The activities include seminars, trend analysis, consumer analysis through surveys and focus group interviews, investigation of obstacles and opportunities within the production and trade sectors through in-depth interviews, innovation workshops for packers, producers, and students, and creating a guide summarizing the final results.

The project is run by Novia University of Applied Sciences (Department of Business Administration and Department of Bioeconomy) together with Hanken School of Economics (Department of Marketing) and in collaboration with the Swedish Producers' Federation of Ostrobothnia, Närpes Vegetables Cooperative, Botnia Vegetables Ltd, and Vasa Vegetables Ltd.

Project goal

The core objectives of the project are: a) to develop Ostrobothnia's greenhouse production to meet future consumer needs in Finland b) to identify future consumer needs within greenhouse production c) to support actors in greenhouse production to meet future needs d) to strengthen cooperation between students and the business sector.
