Digital skills development for small businesses

About the project

The project aims to strengthen cooperation between universities, the public sector, students and companies, to increase the digital skills of small businesses in South Ostrobothnia. The project is run by Novia University of Applied Sciences with Business Kristinestad and Dynamo Närpes between 2024-2026.

Students are asking for more labour market cooperation, while companies need digital skills. The public sector wants to bring the university and the region closer together. University staff, students, regional representatives and businesses are actively involved. Activities include analysis of needs, workshops on general digital knowledge, and resource workshops focusing on specific digital skills development using peer learning.

Through public events and open workshops, an open digital platform and anchoring of the results, the project also reaches out to other companies, municipalities, business associations and stakeholders in the region, both nationally and on a Nordic level.

Project goal

The core objectives of the project include: a) Promoting regional co-operation between all participants b) Helping participants to identify and develop their digital knowledge c) Laying the foundation for common digital solutions d) Introducing new digital ways of working.

The project aims to support 30 companies in South Ostrobothnia. The project will strengthen the competitiveness of companies through digital development and increased co-operation, which in turn will create growth and strengthen the region's strategic goals and vitality.
