Biogas Test Plant for Technobothnia

Modern equipment for biogas R&D

About the project

Novia University of Applied Sciences is taking the development of regional biogas production to the next level, as this investment project enables the acquisition of laboratory-scale digesters. With the new equipment, it is possible to simulate the biogas process with continous feeding and monitor the process with measuring equipment. Effects on the fertilizer properties of digestate can also be assessed in laboratory experiments more efficiently.

Biogas production in Finland is set to increase, but requires large investments and careful studies. The equipment can support this development and thus contribute to the green transition and a circular society.

Project goal

Acquire laboratory-scale reactors and take them into operation.
