The national university of applied sciences survey collects information about the graduates' employment, their careers as a whole and how satisfied they are with their career and degree. Anyone who completed a university of applied sciences degree or a higher university of applied sciences degree five years ago, i.e. those who graduated in 2019, has the opportunity to answer the survey.

What does the work and career situation look like five years after graduation? Do the competences acquired by university of applied sciences studies carry over into working life? The career follow-up survey provides up-to-date information about working life, including the graduates' employment and career paths. The information is important for the development of education and study guidance.

"We at Novia are super excited to see if our alumni who graduated in 2019 can achieve as good, if not better, response rates than we've had in recent years. Our alumni are great at providing valuable feedback, and we're extremely excited about their commitment," says Bella Alén, Novia's alumni coordinator.

The career monitoring survey has an established place as part of the universities of applied sciences' stakeholder response. The alumni who answer the survey are potential partners of Novia  and users of continuous learning services. The valuable information obtained from them provides, among other things, signals about changes in working life and contributes to the development of the quality of education and services for continuous learning.

The results of the career follow-up survey also have a direct impact on Novia's funding. Based on the results, the Ministry of Education and Culture allocates 3 percent of the basic funding to the universities of applied sciences.

The target group for the annual career monitoring survey is those who graduated from Novia five years ago.

The career monitoring survey will be sent on October 10 by e-mail or text message to everyone who completed a university of applied sciences degree or a higher university of applied sciences degree in 2019. Novia wants as many people as possible to share their experiences of studies and professional life.

The survey is carried out by the universities of applied sciences in collaboration with CSC – IT Center for Science Oy.
