New publication from Novia: Perception of Learning Through Collaboration in a Cross-Cultural Setting
The article “Perception of Learning Through Collaboration in a Cross-Cultural Setting: A Case Study of Novia UAS and Lambung Mangkurat University” has been published in Novia’s own publication series Articles. The article is grounded in a case study that explores the experiences of select students and faculty from Novia University of Applied Sciences and Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) as they navigate the nuances of cross-cultural collaborative learning.
The paper is written in collaboration between Rosmeriany Nahan-Suomela and Chrysi Dresnali from Novia UAS together with Daniel Addo-Bempong from consultant services Bao Talo RY. The paper delves into the perceptions of learning within a cross-cultural context among students and educators. It examines the benefits derived from such collaborative programs, specifically those shared between Novia UAS in Finland and ULM in Indonesia
The findings reveal a mutual comprehension among both students and educators regarding the value of learning in diverse cultural settings. Notably, students reported enhanced English language skills, a deeper understanding of diverse student perspectives, and the ability to collaborate effectively with international peers.
Students and faculty who participated in the study were a part of a project titled “Digital Business and Entrepreneurship with a Sustainability Approach – Learning through collaborations in a cross-cultural setting”. Funded by Team Finland Knowledge program, that aims at creating and strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions from Finland and targeted regions, such as Indonesia in Southeast Asia.
