Novia UAS launches Degree Programmes in English within Health and Welfare

Novia launches two degree programmes in English within health and welfare: Bachelor of Beauty and Cosmetics, Beauty Care as well as Master of Health Care/Master of Social Services, Health Care and Social Services. 

The programme Bachelor of Beauty and Cosmetics, Beauty Care is in English and covers 210 credits (3,5 years) at Campus Vasa. The content focuses on human inner wellbeing by working on external conditions. The student creates aesthetic and visual entities on customers and models in varying work environments. He or she receives broad expertise in the beauty industry’s various areas, such as makeup, style, hair and skin, and can perform various tasks. The degree programme is now offered in English in order to broaden recruitment and promote internationalization. The programme was previously only available in Swedish (estenom YH) and the programme started at Campus Vaasa 1999.

 “The Bachelor programme has 20 study places and is expected to arouse great interest. The programme offers synergy with Novia’s corresponding Swedish programme (estenom). Graduates may use the title of Bachelor of Beauty and Cosmetics,” tells Dean Eva Matintupa.

The degree programme Master of Health Care/Master of Social Services, Health Care and Social Services covers 90 credits (circa 2 years) and leads to a higher university degree. It is conducted as online studies. The programme is aimed at people in the working life who wish to deepen and broaden their specialist knowledge. The studies offer the opportunity to improve expert knowledge in order to develop multi-professional social and health care. The Master programme has 20 study places and is expected to be sought-after. Graduates may use the title of Master of Health Care/Master of Social Services.

Both programmes will begin in the autumn of 2021. The application period is 7–20 January 2021 and applications are submitted via studyinfo.fi.
