Many want to study in the English degree programmes at Novia
Many want to study on the international English Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at the Novia University of Applied Sciences.
The application period for Novia University of Applied Sciences' international English-language Bachelor's and Master's programmes, which begin this autumn, ended on January 17th.
In total, 4166 applications have been received for Novia's English degree programmes. A total of 322 study places were offered.
The most popular Bachelor's degree programmes are Bachelor of Health Care, Nursing in Vaasa, which attracted over 2,000 applicants, and Bachelor of Maritime Management, Maritime Management, Captain in Turku. Among Novia's Master's programs, Master of Engineering, Industrial Management and Engineering in Vaasa and Master of Engineering, Structural Engineering in Raasepori have attracted the most applicants.
"In this year's application, major changes have been made to the admission methods. For MBA, Digital Business and Management and Service Design, Novia has adopted new admission methods and applicants who do not already have a Finnish Bachelor’s Degree are required to take either the GMAT or the GRE exam at their own expense in advance. This has weeded out many applicants who did not familiarize themselves with the admissions information before the application began," says Linda Norrbutts.
"For Novia's bachelor's programs that use the International UAS Exam as a selection method, the English language requirements have been tightened. In order to participate in the spring International UAS Exam, it is required that applicants can demonstrate in advance that they meet the established language requirements, either through previously completed education or through taking an internationally established English language test in advance," continues Norrbutts.
"In recent years, we have gradually expanded the range of English-language courses to respond to the increasingly international working life. We are very happy with the result, which is in line with our strategy," says Head of Communication Jenny Svartsjö.
