-understand the process of natural ageing (physical, mental and social changes)
-become prepared to assess caring needs that are specific for the elderly patient
-obtain basic knowledge of health promotion, the prevention of diseases and disabilities in older adults, and use this knowledge for patient guidance.
-obtain knowledge of specific diseases linked to older adults and their aetiology
-obtain knowledge of specific issues regarding pharmacology and nutrition in elderly care, and prepare for the practice of safe drug administration
-become prepared to care for the elderly patient in all nursing contexts |
