Prerequisites:
Course-specific competence: The student demonstrates knowledge of the basic principles of pharmaceutics and pharmacology (pharmacodynamics and kinetics)
The student understands what effect human anatomy and physiology have on administration of medicines, the stages of a medicine and its effect on the organism
The student can give an account of the main types of medicines
The student is able to plan, implement and assess safe medication management, fluid resuscitation, parenteral nutrition and transfusion involving patients with various illnesses and different groups of patients
The student understands the significance of the patient's engagement in the medical treatment
The student demonstrates sufficient skills in nursing mathematics
