Course-specific competence: Internship I is farm-oriented and aims at the student achieving basic competencies and practical skills regarding entrepreneurship within rural industries. During the internship periods (1-3, each 10-30 credits, 30 credits in total) the student shall be able to document and evaluate his/her work effort in relation to previous experiences and theoretical knowledge. After completing the internship the student shall be able to plan, realize and describe common working operations on the chosen place of work. The student shall have knowledge of the technical equipment used on the place of internship and be able to describe the organization, different professional roles and competency requirements. The student shall be able to analyse and describe the strong and weak points, threats and possibilities on the basis of the interaction of the chosen place of work with its environment and know how to understand and reflect over how the influencing factors affect the performing of practical work in the company/organization as well as act independently in the work community and initiate development suggestions. The student shall be able to describe how information is conveyed and marketing is performed on the chosen place of work and be able to account for the horticultural and agricultural production of the region. During the internship periods the student strengthens his/her professional competency and creates networks and contacts for his/her own future professional needs.
