Course-specific competence: "The student understands the needs that cultivation plants have for plant nutrition and is able to take measures in order to relieve the lack of plant nutrition.

The student is able to account for the nitrogen circulation from the perspective of plant cultivation and knows how to assess the amount of nutrients bound in the nutrient supply of the soil and the amount that plants can benefit from.

The student is able to calculate the benefits of the biological nitrogen fixation for the nitrogen supply of the crops.

The student is familiar with the presentation and characteristics of different mineral and organic fertilizers.

The student is able to explain and understand the concept of green manure and assess its possible effects.

The student understands how different types of organic fertilizers, including farmyard manure, must be handled so that the degree of utilization becomes optimal.

The student knows how to make fertilizer calculations and choose the correct fertilizers.
