Course-specific competence: The student will:
-be able to participate in a multiprofessional team and create a natural caring relationship with the patient by using the patient’s mother tongue on at least a basic level
-be able to follow general rules and routines in the working environment
-be able to apply evidence-based knowledge to mental health nursing, primary health care and home nursing care
-be able to identify mental disorders and addictive behaviour
-be able to implement the nursing process in mental health, primary health care and home nursing care
-develop respect for the patient’s integrity and autonomy when caring for the patient in a home environment
-be able to employ aseptic working methods in a home environment
-be able to inform, advice and guide the patient in issues related to mental health and addictive behaviour, and will be able to provide psychiatric first aid
-be able to support the patient’s family in their care for the patient
-be able to perform safe drug administration
