Course-specific competence: The student will
-obtain knowledge of the specific prerequisites related to caring for children, adolescents and their families
-obtain knowledge of specific health risks related to children and adolescents and prepare to guide the child, adolescent and family in their decisions regarding health-promotion
-be able to use the nursing process as a framework for providing individualized care for patients, with consideration to the age-specific needs of the patient
-be able to prioritize the patient’s needs for nursing care, act correctly on those needs, and document them based on the national classification system
-understand different cultural needs and learn to treat the patient, and the family, with dignity
