Course-specific competence: The student will:
-obtain knowledge of, and be prepared to apply, legislation and social control on to substance abuse
-be able to identify the impact of substance abuse and addiction on society
-be prepared to implement preventive working methods
-be able to describe the specific features of different groups of substance abusers
-be able to use the nursing process as a framework for providing individualized care for patients with addiction and substance abuse disorders
-be able to prioritize the patient’s needs for nursing care, act correctly on those needs and document them based on the national classification system
-will be able to apply the specific features of addiction and substance abuse to all nursing contexts
