Course-specific competence: The student will:
-understand the principles of safety control and know how to implement them in nursing care
-obtain knowledge of X-ray diagnostics and its importance in patient care
-know laws, regulations and directives concerning medical radiation
-know the medical uses of radiation
-obtain basic knowledge and skills regarding radiation, and will be able to minimize radiation risks
-obtain basic knowledge of radiation protection for health professionals outlined in ST 1.7 (Säteilysuojelukoulutus terveydenhuollossa)
-prepare to promote patient safety in all phases of the nursing process
-prepare to prevent and identify quality deviations in all phases of the nursing process
-understand the importance of confidentiality in all phases of the nursing process, and be able to act in accordance with such principles
