Field Information
Here you will find information about the site analysis, design, and management of the physical project at Lill-Nägels and Kirkkonummi.
Site Analysis
Holistic farm design and management rests heavily upon understanding the context of operations. In this section, I will share the physical analysis of the site, starting from the broadest level of analysis (our global context) before moving step by step closer to the actual location of our project. This is a fairly standard way of approaching a project from a permaculture design perspective: understanding your biome, regional context, and site specific attributes of a place all inform the final design.
Since this project is focused on a particular field, it was not within the scope of our operations to conduct a full farm analysis and design.

Site Design
Only after an initial site analysis has taken place does design begin to take more than basic form. What we want to achieve needs to align as well as possible with what a place is likely to support. The design of any system is likely to be iterative: a concept is put forward that fits the context and goals of the people involved. That concept is refined through discussion, checking the physical location, and even forecasting potential economic activity of the system. After many steps forward and backwards a working site design emerges. Even then, this is only the beginning as field truthing and experience should modify the system over time. Adaptive management of complex systems necessitates ongoing dialogue between project partners as well as the site's ecology & economic performance.

Site Management
This section will be a place for us to share ideas and concepts related to how we plan to manage our system at LillNAP.
