Getting Here
Ekenäs and Campus Raseborg are easily accessible by train, bus, car, and boat/ ferry. There are train connections from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, Helsinki City Centre, Turku, Turku Port, and many other departure points. Please see below for further information. When possible, and in accordance with sustainability principles, we encourage transportation by low-carbon means.
Train
VR is the national railway company in Finland. In general, trains in Finland are comfortable and punctual. When searching the timetables in English and Finnish, use the Finnish name for Ekenäs: Tammisaari. When searching in Swedish, use the Swedish name: Ekenäs. You may buy tickets from VR’s webpage, VR ticket machines at most train stations (Helsinki-Vantaa Airport included), VR customer service points at some stations, and conductors on long distance trains (by card only, with a 5 € service fee, and NOT on commuter trains).
There is generally space available on trains when booked in advance. If the train is sold out, you may still board and buy a ticket from the conductor (with a 5 € service fee), but you will not have a seat reservation.
Novia UAS Campus Raseborg and most accommodation in Ekenäs are within walking distance from the Ekenäs Railway Station (about 10-15 minutes walk).
From the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport
The commuter trains on the Ring Rail Line connect the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Pasila Station (SV: Böle) and Helsinki City Centre. When coming directly from the airport, you may buy a train ticket from VR that includes (for no additional cost) the ride from the airport to the connecting long distance InterCity train and subsequent Regional train for Ekenäs. In this case, buy a ticket from "Helsinki Airport" to "Tammisaari". All trains leaving from Helsinki Airport go via Pasila Station and terminate at Helsinki Central Railway Station. The trains via Tikkurila (SV: Dickursby) are slightly faster. Change from the commuter train to the long distance InterCity train towards Turku (SV: Åbo) at Pasila Station, which is one stop before Helsinki Central Railway Station. The InterCity train from Pasila Station towards Turku usually leaves from Track 7, but do check the notification boards in the station or ask a conductor for current information. Finally, change in Karjaa (SV: Karis) from the InterCity train to the Regional train towards Hanko (SV: Hangö), leaving from Track 1, and then get off at the Ekenäs (FI: Tammisaari) stop.
If you wish to visit Helsinki briefly before boarding the long distance train towards Turku, select “Helsinki” as your transfer station (“Intermediate Station”) in the advanced search (“Refine search”). The ticket is valid for 80 minutes before the scheduled departure of the long-distance train. Otherwise, buy a separate ticket for the commuter train from the HSL Ticket Machine at the train platform.
From Helsinki City Centre
Buy a ticket from VR from “Helsinki” to “Tammisaari”. Board the long distance InterCity train towards Turku (SV: Åbo) in Helsinki Central Railway Station. The InterCity train from Helsinki Central Railway Station towards Turku usually leaves from Track 11, 12, or 13, but do check the notification boards in the station or ask VR personnel for current information. Change in Karjaa (SV: Karis) from the InterCity train to the Regional train towards Hanko (SV: Hangö), leaving from Track 1, and then get off at the Ekenäs (FI: Tammisaari) stop.
From Turku (SV: Åbo)
Buy a ticket from VR from “Turku” to “Tammisaari”. Board the long distance InterCity train towards Helsinki (SV: Helsingfors) at Turku Railway Station. The InterCity train from Turku Railway Station towards Helsinki usually leaves from Track 4, 5, or 6, but do check the notification boards at the station or ask VR personnel for current information. Change in Karjaa (SV: Karis) from the InterCity train to the Regional train towards Hanko (SV: Hangö), leaving from Track 1, and then get off at the Ekenäs (FI: Tammisaari) stop.
Are you arriving to Turku by ferry from Åland or Stockholm? If so, you may board some trains immediately at the port. In this case, search for and buy a ticket from VR from “Turku port” to “Tammisaari”. Otherwise, first go from the port to Turku Centre (there is a local bus), and then get the train from Turku Railway Station (“Turku”).
Car
If arriving by car, please use the address below for directions. There is some parking available at Novia UAS Campus Raseborg. Please be in touch with your place of accommodation directly about parking availability there.

Bus
There are direct buses to Ekenäs from Helsinki, but the bus ride takes longer and is more expensive than the train. Buses leave from the Kamppi Bus Station (in the basement of the Kamppi Shopping Centre). You may get off at the “Vanha hautausmaa” stop (SV: Gamla gravgården), which is nearly directly across the street from Novia UAS Raseborg Campus, or then at the Ekenäs Railway Station, which is still within walking distance of the campus and most accommodation in Ekenäs. For bus timetables and ticket purchase, please visit the Matkahuolto webpage. Search for a ticket to "Tammisaari (Raasepori)" or, if searching in Swedish, "Ekenäs (Raseborg)".
