Instructions & Presenter Guidelines

Overview

CoastGIS 2021 is being held with Webex Meetings, an easy-to-use video conferencing solution from Cisco.

To enter a meeting, click the links in the detailed programme or go to https://signin.webex.com/join and enter the corresponding meeting number (listed in the detailed programme). Then enter the password that you received via email.

Webex has excellent instructions on how to join a Webex meeting here. You can join from Windows and Mac, iOS and Android, or your browser.

Please download Webex here. If you have not previously used Webex and would like to test the system before the symposium, you can find instructions for joining a test meeting here.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

Oral presentations will be given live. Each presenter has up to 15 minutes to present. Afterwards, there will be time for at least three minutes of discussion, and then two minutes for changing speakers. If you would like more discussion time for your research, consider making the presentation shorter than 15 minutes.

With the permission of the presenters, all presentations will be recorded and, after the event, will be made accessible for the participants of the conference. The discussions will not be recorded.

If you will present using a visual tool like PowerPoint (how you present is up to you), please send us a copy of your presentation slides by Wednesday, September 15. This way we have a back-up ready in case you have trouble with screen sharing.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

Please submit a video file with a two-minute recorded presentation of your poster by Tuesday, September 14. You may present your poster with a format of your choosing; for example, by preparing 2-4 PowerPoint slides or by using a similar presentation tool. During the poster session we will play the video presentations. After each two-minute presentation, there will be the opportunity for three minutes of live discussion.

Presenters must be present online during the poster session. We will publish the poster presentations at the beginning of the conference with your permission. Please send the video file of your presentation to the coastgis2021@novia.fi email address.
